National Florida Beach TV Ads to Run

How cool is that?

The Lee County Visitor and Convention Bureau have just finished taping 9 straight days of a different section of beach for people around the United States to see that our beaches have not been affected and that they should not cancel their Florida vacation… one of the days was filmed in front of ‘Tween Waters Inn on Captiva Island.

We have to get the word out there somehow because if people just watch the news, we are getting a really bad wrap!

You can read all about it here: Lee County Shoots Multi-Million Dollar National TV Ads

Have a great weekend,

“Men Who Cook” Winner Gets Sanibel Island Getaway!

What a great idea!

In Wisconsin, the Christine Ann Domestic Abuse Services is putting on its 10th Annual “Men Who Cook” contest on June 26th, where more than 50 area men from all walks of business, local government, media and education will partake in preparing their very best entrees, side dishes, appetizers and desserts in an effort to raise funds to aid in domestic violence against women.

The winner of the live and silent auctions will receive an exclusive Sanibel Island Getaway, a diamond pendant, a helicopter tour and other valuable prizes.

You can read all about the juicy details here: Award-Winning “Men Who Cook” Goes Hollywood

Why can’t we do something like this on Sanibel?  And make the Getway to Fiji or something?

I love to watch men cook!  🙂

See you next week!

Bicycle Trekking – Sanibel to Captiva or Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park

Are you a biker? Do you enjoy longer bike trips that take you all day to get through?

If so, then there are plenty of opportunities for you in and around Sanibel and Captiva.

We have some of the most beautiful trails that wind through lovely wildlife reserves, as well as over bridges and sand dunes, all with spectacular views.

Even outside of Sanibel and Captiva, over on the mainland, there are amazing trails that will take you through mangrove orchards and sabal palm trees.  One such place is the Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park where you can easily spend the day enjoying the different trails and lookout points over the water.

One couple moved to Florida recently and shares their experience, which I thought was a nice way to introduce people outside of Florida to this low-maintenance outdoor activity with plenty of high-impact nature and wildlife.

You can read all about it here:  Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park

Ok, that’s it for this week, hope you can get out and enjoy the trails this weekend!

Have a good one,

Sandy and Rob
